*As of Wednesday, March 18, our facilities are closed and all worship gatherings and in-person events are suspended until October 4, when we will open our sanctuary for modified, in-person worship. We look forward to welcoming you back and ask that you read the reopening information provided on the Welcome page of our website (see the three links just underneath the cover photo) prior to attending worship. We will continue to livestream our worship services via Facebook Live and recommend that those in high risk categories continue to participate remotely in worship online.
**We will celebrate the Sacrament of Communion together, even as we worship online, as approved by Session with recent guidance from PCUSA.
You are invited to use elements found in your own household (bread, crackers or tortilla, and water, juice or wine, etc.) to be blessed and shared together in our common meal.
The Theology of the Sacraments from the Book of Order W-3.0401 - The Sacraments are the Word of God enacted and sealed in the life of the Church, the body of Christ. They are gracious acts of God, by which Christ Jesus offers his life to us in the power of the Holy Spirit. They are also human acts of gratitude, by which we offer our lives to God in love and service. The Sacraments are both physical signs and spiritual gifts, including words and actions, surrounded by prayer, in the context of the Church's common worship. They employ ordinary things - the basic elements of water, bread, and wine - in proclaiming the extraordinary love of God.
